So, you’ve mulched up all those leaves and added them to your flower beds. While you have the mower out it’s a great time to give your yard a good initial mow. Depending on your grass type, it’s a good idea to mow a little lower than normal or dethatch your lawn. Dethatching will help remove that thick layer of dead grass from the winter. Think of it like removing the split ends from your lawn. This will allow nutrients, water and sunshine to reach the soil and help your lawn grow green and lush this season.

Let’s get those landscape beds cleaned up and take care of those leaves.
Removing weeds from your flower beds can be a time-consuming task but your plants will thank you for it later. We suggest getting started now, before those pesky weeds start to grow and spread.
If you find a lot of leaves have accumulated in your landscape beds, we suggest blowing or raking them out and mulching them up with your lawn mower. If you have a bagger, you can spread those mulched up leaves in your landscape beds (voila! FREE soil conditioner) Top that with a little organic compost and a fresh layer of mulch or pine straw and you’re all ready to GROW.
