🚨 Liner popped out of the track? Don't panic — and DON'T drain the pool.

Every spring we get calls from pool owners who walked out to find their vinyl liner slumping out of the top track after a windstorm, winter cover slip, or heavy rain. The good news: most of the time it's fixable without a full replacement — if you move fast and avoid the three biggest mistakes.

Here's what NOT to do:

❌ Don't drain the pool to "make it easier" — water is the only thing holding your liner in place. ❌ Don't use a metal putty knife or screwdriver — one slip and you'll puncture the bead. ❌ Don't refill before the bead is fully reseated — you'll trap water behind the liner.

What the pros actually do:

✅ Warm the vinyl first (full sun or a hair dryer on low) so it stretches without tearing. ✅ Reseat the bead with a plastic putty knife, working outward from a section that's still intact. ✅ Use a wet/dry shop-vac behind the liner to suck it tight against the wall — this is the single best trick we have, and it makes wrinkles disappear. ✅ Brush wrinkles toward the walls as the pool refills. ✅ Install a liner-lock wedge on any section that fights you.

If your liner is 8+ years old, brittle, or floating from groundwater underneath, stop — that's a call-a-pro situation, not a DIY weekend.

Questions? DM us or drop them in the comments. We've helped a lot of pools come back from worse.

🌞 IT'S POOL SEASON — Here's How to Open Yours the RIGHT Way!

Spring is finally here, and if you have a pool, now is the time to get it ready. Whether it's crystal clear or a full-on swamp, this 8-step spring startup guide will have you swimming in no time.

✅ SPRING POOL STARTUP CHECKLIST:

1. Remove and clean your cover (pump off standing water first!)
2. Inspect your pump, filter, and heater for any winter damage
3. Top off water to the midpoint of the skimmer opening
4. Restart circulation and run for 24 hours before adding any chemicals
5. Test your water chemistry with a 6-in-1 test kit or at your local pool store
6. Balance chemicals in order: Total Alkalinity first, then pH, then Calcium Hardness, then Chlorine
7. Shock the pool at night using calcium hypochlorite (1 lb per 10,000 gallons)
8. Brush, vacuum, and skim — run the filter 24/7 the first week

📊 IDEAL WATER CHEMISTRY:
• pH: 7.4 – 7.6
• Total Alkalinity: 80–120 ppm
• Calcium Hardness: 200–400 ppm
• Free Chlorine: 1–3 ppm
• Cyanuric Acid: 30–50 ppm

💡 PRO TIP: Never skip the 24-hour rule. Add a chemical, run the pump, wait a full day, then re-test before adding anything else. This single habit will save you money and frustration all season long.
