PSA: If you live near a holding pond and are on a septic system, chances are, you will have to have this same process completed once your septic has ran its lifespan.

On this particular job, we created a 3-4' swimming pool in their front yard, then we backfilled with certified sand. The soil in this yard was from the holding pond and is less desirable among septic systems. It suffucated the system with the denseness of the soil.
We then placed the septic system in the certified sand, backfilled, graded and then seeded the affected area. This job took us 3 full days to complete and a lot of organization of trucks, tractors and inspectors.

Want to know what it looks like when your drainlines quit working because they have lived their life span?

This is two separate ditches.

As you can see it seems like we hit a water line with the amount if water in the ditches, but no! Thats all sewage from the septic system.

Did you know a small leak in the house can cause horrendous damages to your septic system?!?!

Normally a toilet flapper is the cause of most water leaks.
The flappers need to be tested once a year to ensure there are no water leaks.

How can you check this? Great question!

Get the color changing cleaning tablet from your local DG, place it in the BACK of the toilet. Let it sit overnight without flushing the toilet. When you check back in the morning, any toilet that has the color in the BOWL of the toilet means the flapper needs to be replaced.

Remember, you will not always HEAR a leak, a lot go undetected until we show up.

We/ you can also find leaks by opening your clean out cap (between the house and the septic tank) to see if there is any moving water going though it (this only works if you make sure no one is running any water inside FIRST).
