Went to do a water test today and the owner “has a pool guy that comes every week”. These were his chemical readings and the guy was there two days ago. His plaster had huge “pits” all throughout and he said it’s been doing that for years. Notice that his calcium is at 80…This should be a minimum of 250, but most pool guys don’t test for calcium hardness, we do. When your calcium is this low, your water is pulling calcium out of the plaster to try and balance itself. Bad chemistry has destroyed this poor guy’s plaster, but luckily he’s switching to us.
The picture on the right is what his pool needs according to the LSI (the most scientific method of balancing chemistry). Yes, you are reading that correctly- he needs 99 lbs of calcium added to his pool! 😳 Obviously we can’t do this all in one visit, but…
