We are so saddened to share the news that Sam passed away peacefully in his sleep early this morning, April 26. His family has been notified, and we will share additional information as we receive it. As you all know, we all lost a true horseman. Please share your favorite Sam stories in the comments.

Here is an example of what happens if you allow grease to go into your drains. Over time it can clog your baffles and settle within your tank. On this particular tank, it was not allowing any water to drain from the house. Dispose of grease somewhere else besides your drains. Also the bacteria in this tank isn’t working properly. When you see sludge (the thick crust) on top, then you don’t have a healthy bacteria operating in your tank. When you pull the lid, if you have good bacteria, you should see a green liquid and the sludge should be settled at the bottom. Some things you can do to get better bacteria is to flush things such as bakers yeast, milk or ice cream that’s out of date, or products such as Roebik down your toilet. I’ve seen it all now. Stop throwing dead animals in your septic tank. A normal bowel movement already contains trillions of bacteria and natural enzymes. Your septic tank gets the biology it needs from the waste going into it every day. Dead chickens don’t “help the bacteria.” They add unnecessary solids, and now the system has to work harder to break down both your household waste and the dead animals you threw in there.

Septic maintenance is simple:

Watch what goes down the drain.
Follow the 3 P’s (P*e, Poo, Paper)
Quit believing septic myths.
Pump the tank on schedule.

And honestly, if you really care about the health of your septic tank, eat a big meal, go to the restroom, and drop a big ol’ deuce. Flush that bacteria into your septic tank the way nature intended.

Dont forget we do commercial tanks, old tanks that need to be scrapped, swimming pools etc. The job in the photos is an old tank that had to be removed. 14,000 gallons pumped and it was ready to go. Just in time before the rain.
