Solid Waste Service Update 🚨

Due to inclement weather, our landfill partner Waste Connections of Northeast Mississippi is temporarily closed. Without the landfill open, Lawrence County cannot safely store or dispose of collected trash, making normal operations impossible at this time.

We ask for your patience and cooperation and for everyone to help keep trash secured and off our roadways until service resumes.

“We understand this is an inconvenience, and we appreciate the patience of our citizens. Our team is ready to get back to work as soon as conditions allow. Thank you for helping us keep Lawrence County clean and safe,” said David Morgan, Lawrence County Executive.

Attention ALL customers :
I'm going to try to simplify what's going on. There are some roads still icy, but the weather isn't the only problem. The landfill (dump) is not getting trailers to carry the garbage off, therefore only a limited amount of garbage can be disposed of. That said we can only pickup a small amount of usual routes. If your garbage isn't picked up this is why. I put a copy of the statement about this on our page. If you need further information, please call 931-279-8838. We apologize for this inconvenience.

We are going to run tomorrow around Lawrenceburg, a lot of roads are still impassable, we are still limited at the transfer station (the dump). We will do what we can. Please understand we will do the best we can. Sorry for any inconvenience.

We will NOT be running route on Tuesday 01/27/2026. Main roads may be passable but we travel a lot of back roads that are impassable. Sorry for the inconvenience but safety first.

There will NOT be garbage pickup tomorrow Monday 01/26/2026 due to road conditions and extremely cold temperatures. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We will update each day.

Thursday customers : your trash will be picked up tomorrow, Friday 1/2 and Fridays customers will be picked up on Saturday 1/3.

Any customers that didn't get picked up today (Monday 29th) will be tomorrow. The dump is very backed up from being closed. It is resulting in long wait times to dump. It will throw our days off this week. We apologize for the delays. We will do our best to get everyone.
