"I've been in the foster care system and up for adoption for two years and nobody wants me. I need a dad. Will you adopt me?"

A youth said this recently to Addison in the middle of a work shift.

If you don't understand that foster care is tragic, talk to us. We've heard a lot.

Every single bit of support helps these youth. Many of them need more than you'd imagine and it takes a community to help lift them up.

Your presence, your smile, your support here matters, and helps us be part of the puzzle that they are missing.

Tick season is in full swing, y'all😲 While ticks can transmit diseases, if you're properly prepared, they don't have to stop you from enjoying the outdoors!

Here's some top tips for safely exploring:
1. Avoid tall grass, bushes, and wooded areas with lots of leaf litter. Stick to the center of trails.
2. Use insect repellent on your skin and/or permethrin on your clothing. If you're wearing sunscreen, apply that first, then insect repellent.
3. Wear long sleeves and pants that are tucked into high socks or boots.
Bonus tip- bring a lint roller or roll of duct tape along to easily remove ticks (especially "seed" ticks) from your clothing.

Check for ticks on your clothing and yourself when you're back indoors. They especially like hiding in warm crevices, around your waist, and around hair. If you find a tick, DON'T PANIC. Use fine-tipped tweezers to remove the tick as close to your skin as possible so you fully remove the head. Wrap it tightly in tape or submerge it in alcohol and keep it just in case you develop an illness. Learn more here: https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/after-a-tick-bite/index.html

To the moms-to-be, the women hoping to become mothers, and those carrying the love of a child in their hearts.
To the dads, grandparents, siblings, and guardians filling a mother’s role with unconditional love.
To the moms sacrificing quietly, and showing up every single day even when no one sees it.
To those celebrating today, and to those grieving, missing, or remembering their moms — this day holds space for you too.

Today, we’re both sad and excited to announce that it’s Josie Brooks last day with Getaway Cleaning Services LLC. While we’ll miss having her on our team, we couldn’t be more proud of her as she begins this exciting new chapter!

Happy Earth Day from Getaway Cleaning 💚🌎

Today is a reminder that this planet is our home! the only one we’ve got. Mother Nature takes care of us every single day, and it’s on us to start taking better care of her.

Here are a couple simple ways we can all make a difference:

• Recycle and reuse what you can
Donate or thrift clothes instead of tossing them. Give items a second life whenever possible.

• Be mindful of everyday waste
Recycle properly, cut down on single-use plastics, and make small swaps where you can. It all adds up.

• Plant with purpose 🌱
Flowers like milkweed, lavender, and coneflowers help support butterflies, bees, and other pollinators that keep our ecosystem alive.

• Use your voice
Call or email your local representatives and let them know that protecting our planet matters to you. Real change happens when people speak up.

At the end of the day, we can’t keep treating Earth like it’s replaceable. While people talk about exploring new planets, we’re still responsible for the one beneath our feet. This is home.

Let’s be better to it. 💚
