#201 With FEYNLAB!

This one belongs to a dear friend who's trusted us with his vehicles for many years.
This time, the family dog showed those doors a little too much love, leaving behind plenty of scratches. Add in a few bumps and bruises from life along the way, plus some previous bodywork that wasn't finished quite the way it should have been, and this 2500 HD was ready for some attention.
Our process wasn't a quick fix. We carefully sanded, compounded, polished, primed, and coated the truck with FEYNLAB to restore the finish and bring back the gloss, clarity, and protection it deserved.

Filling in some rock chips today!

They're small, but they sure know how to grab your attention every time you walk up to your vehicle. A few highway miles, a gravel road, or one poorly timed encounter with a flying rock is all it takes.

The good news? Those little chips don't automatically mean an expensive repaint.

We can often touch up and improve the appearance of rock chips, helping them blend in much better while also protecting exposed areas from moisture and future rust. It's one of those small details that can make a vehicle look years newer and significantly improve its overall appearance.

Back in 2022, this 2010 Equinox came to us for some much-needed TLC. Fast forward to today, and it's back for a refresh!

This visit included a full Interior Restoration, removal of rail dust, tar, asphalt, and other embedded contaminants that slowly build up over time. We also took care of a few rust spots hiding in the door jambs to help keep things looking their best.

A little attention goes a long way. Now this Equinox is looking clean, refreshed, and ready to enjoy another summer on the road.

Got a big family?

Then you probably don't have time to spend half a Saturday cleaning the inside of the van.

That's where we come in.

Got this family hauler back in shape and ready for the next road trip, school run, grocery trip, and everything else life throws at it.

And honestly, these Siennas are something else. Every time we work on one, we're reminded how comfortable they are. If I had a big family, this would be high on the list.

Body shop work...
I know some incredible body shops that produce absolutely stunning paintwork.
Unfortunately, this fender wasn't one of them.
Deep sanding marks, missed areas, overspray, tape lines, poor finishing work... the list goes on.
The challenge? Many of these defects are nearly invisible under normal shop lighting.
That's why we use Scangrip lighting.
Why Scangrip?
Because regular lights show gloss.
Scangrip lights show defects.
They're specifically designed to reveal swirls, holograms, haze, sanding marks, and other imperfections that ordinary lighting hides. If you can't see the problem, you can't properly fix it.

Went to Carroll to check out the Big Boy!

A rolling piece of American history.

Why do we invest so much money on sanding materials?

Because when you're working on the micron level, details matter.

A cheap sanding disc will leave inconsistent scratch patterns, pigtails, uneven cutting, and create extra work chasing defects. That's why we use premium Mirka (Finnish) and Kovax (Japanese) abrasives when performing color sanding and paint restoration.

When we're removing defects, we're not taking off loads of material. We're often measuring and working within thousandths of an inch. At that level, consistency, predictability, and control become everything.

Could we save money with cheaper products? Sure.
But high-end results require high-end tools, quality materials, proper measurements, and years of experience knowing when to stop.

The goal isn't just removing scratches. The goal is toning them safely.

That's the OCD way.
