Cleaning Lady Tip! 💖
I’ve learned A LOT from my clients over the years of cleaning homes, but one that I stick by and always share is the simple cleaning caddy.
I have crippling ADHD, and my brain never slows down! I feel like that’s the case with a lot of people my age, anyway… I think that in itself should be studied. 🤔
People who tend to keep the cleanest bathrooms always have a few cleaning supplies nearby, but typically not everything you need.
So say you go to clean the bathroom, you may have a bottle of cleaner, but you’ll need paper towels and a scrub brush 🚶♀️ If you’re anything like me, you head to the kitchen or supply closet to get what you need and suddenly you’re doing the dishes etc.
Who knows when you’ll make it back in there with the stuff you actually need. 😂
So what I started doing at my own house, is gathering everything you need to do a quick bathroom clean up, in one place. You don’t need a huge caddy, or anything special, and you don’t need these exact products… I bet you have everything you need at your house already, it’s having it all together IN THE ROOM that you’re cleaning that makes all the difference.
What you’ll need:
A good degreaser, for the shower and tub. 🛁
Even if it’s just a bottle of Dawn & Water or Vinegar will work. I prefer Dawn Powerwash, and a scrub brush or sponge. You can clean your shower while you’re in the shower, give it a quick spray and wipe a few times a week and you won’t have to worry about it getting out of hand.
I keep mine in the shower at all times, otherwise, I’ll forget to do it.
A roll of good paper towels for drying, wiping down the toilet and the walls around it when cleaning, and for the counter tops and mirrors. Window cleaner for mirrors, good multi purpose cleaner, a scrub brush, magic eraser and a good disinfectant spray.
All ready to go when you need it.
➕I’d like to add, if your shower tends to get mildew, mold, soap scum build up even when cleaned often, it’s probably caused by poor ventilation and air flow. In this case, keep a good bleach cleaner nearby, and spray and scrub it often. What also helps is leaving the door open for airflow, and drying or squeegeeing all the water off of the glass and floor with a towel after each use.
Try it! Set up these caddy’s in every bathroom and under the kitchen sink, it will change the way you tidy up.
