👣 Ever wonder why your feet turn black inside the house?
Our client noticed her granddaughter’s feet were picking up serious dark residue just from walking barefoot indoors. So we did what any good cleaning team would do – we grabbed a pair of white socks and got to work investigating.
Here’s what can cause dirty feet inside a clean home:
🧹 Carpet Wicking – After a deep clean, trapped soil and residue buried deep in carpet fibers can wick back up to the surface as it dries, leaving behind a layer of grime you can’t always see but can definitely feel.
🪣 Mop Residue Buildup – If floors aren’t being rinsed properly, soap and dirty mop water leaves a sticky film that acts like a magnet for dust and debris. Your floors may look clean but be pulling dirt straight onto bare feet.
🧶 Rug Dye Bleeding – Older area rugs, especially vintage or antique styles, can have dyes that break down over time. Moisture from cleaning, humidity, or even just regular foot traffic can accelerate this process.
🪨 Deteriorating Rug Pads – The foam pad under your area rug breaks down with age, crumbling into a dark, chalky residue that transfers right through the rug fibers and onto your floors and feet.
🔍 What we found in this video? An old area rug whose dyes and fibers had completely broken down – invisible to the eye but picked up immediately by our white socks.
This is exactly why we do not just clean. We investigate. A clean home should feel clean from the ground up, literally.
If your feet are coming up dirty inside your own home, it might be time to call AUSSIE GOT IT. We will find the source and get it sorted.
