Sorry for no posts in a bit. Life gets away from us at times just like the cleaning. Give us a call today to make life easier! Since Winter time is upon us, some in worst climates than others, I thought I'd share a dish I love this time of year no matter where I am, Chili! I recently came across this recipe and LOVED IT and thought I would share with you all.
Ingredients: does not have to be "perfectly measured"
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium yellow onion
1 to 1 1/2 lbs 90% lean ground beef
2 1/2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp ground cumin
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 (15oz) can petitie diced tomatoes
1 (160z) can red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
Toppings:
cheese
onion
sour cream
whatever you fancy putting on top of your chili
Instructions:
1. Add olive oil to a large soup pot and place it over medium high heat for 2 minutes. Add onion. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Add ground beef to the pot. break apart and cook until beef is browned, stirring occasionally. DO NOT DRAIN GROUND BEEF.
3. Add the chili powder, cumin, sugar, tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional cayenne. Stir until well combined.
4. Add the broth, diced tomatoes (with juice) drained beans and tomato sauce. Stir well.
5. Bring the pot to a low boil. Then, reduce the heat (low to med low) to gently simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes, stirrng occasionally.
