7 Days to Home Organization Day 2: Put all of your schedules, to-do list, and checklists for the week, month, and the year ahead on a CALENDAR.

"Umm, O.K., this sounds like a heavy lift...thought you said these tips wouldn't be heavy."

- After recently reading an article on time management written by Srinivas Rao, and taking inventory of my own habits, I believe that calendars are more effective than to-do lists. The likelihood of me getting anything done goes up significantly when I put something on the calendar. Although it may seem a lot to ask of you, completing this activity regularly:

- Allows you to manage many activities and deadlines more efficiently
- Eliminates unnecessary tasks
- Increases the likelihood that you'll actually complete the task
- Makes you feel grounded and mentally focused
- Ensures consistency

After all, ideally, calendars should help you make the most of your time — not just be tools to track events. When an event is consistently scheduled on your calendar, it’s much more likely to transform into an unconscious habit. Who knows, maybe one day Robin's Cleaning Birds will be your next unconscious habit!

7 Days to Home Organization Day 1: Decluttering is the first step to getting organized. Pick a room and then identify and throw away all items in your drawers, closet(s), and desk (if applicable) that you don't use anymore. Only give this activity 60 minutes of your time today.

-One of the most important benefits of organizing and decluttering your space is reduced STRESS. Simply having a more efficient system to keep track of your papers, appointments and clothing can help minimize stress-influenced conditions such as depression, ulcers, and heart disease!

Remember, we're going to do this challenge several times this year so don't worry about getting every little thing you see and don't think too much. Pick a room and just do what you can in the time allotted. Now, grab your trash bag and get busy!

Are you up to a challenge?

I think we all know that a cluttered environment is difficult to dust and keep clean. Do you also know that prolonged exposure to dirty and dusty living conditions can cause allergies to flare up or lead to diseases such as chronic bronchitis, or depression? We have a remedy for that!

On 8/12/19 we are going to start a 7 Day Home Organization Challenge! This means that for 7 days in a row we'll send you tips that will help you organize and declutter your living space to help make it a more stress-free, healthier and happier place to be.

This challenge is not meant to be a heavy lift. We believe that organizing and decluttering your space is a process - an on-going activity, not something you do just once.

We are planning to do this challenge several times a year so don't worry about what you didn't get to this time. Just do what you can in the suggested time frame. If you complete this challenge you will notice that you have created a more relaxing home environment and your life is a little more stress-free!
