We are shut down for a bit. Tomorrow we have a major excavation project happening and part of the floor in the shop is going to be cut out to access the main drain line. Our main drain line is cast iron and has reached the end of its life and has failed. Time to replace it! Of course it runs all through the house, so multiple areas are under construction. It’s going to be messy but we will make it through.

Accident? What accident? This car was in a major collision with a deer? Yea right.
This customer should be pleased with the results. We did the best we could and it was good enough. All the paint is blended very nice and looks uniform from bumper to bumper. Another job well done!

The end results are starting to show. As I look this car over, there are literally no visible signs of this vehicle being in an accident and all the repair work to put it back together. It looks the same as it did when it left our shop about a year ago, with a show car quality finish.

I don’t know what it was, but it doesn’t matter anymore.

I tried to capture this “pig tail” defect during the removal. So I polished half of it for you to see. This damage was shallow in the clear and was easy to remove, but it’s a nasty looking defect.

Before and after pics showing the removal of the buffer trails. These were nasty! Not anymore though.

Same spot on the car.
Pic 1 is before polishing
Pic 2 is after the first pass
Pic 3 is shop lighting
In pic 2 I notice faint buffer trails from me but scratches and swirls are gone. My trails will be removed on the next pass.

We worked on this car last year and now it’s back. Since the last visit, this Camry wasted a deer. There was a significant amount of damage done. At this point, all the repair work has been completed and the new paint has completed the “gass out” process for over 90 days. I am responsible for the last bit of insurance work to close the claim and officially have this car looking as it did before the accident. After washing I have determined I have my hands full! During the paint correction I will highlight some of the damage on the new paint that a body shop deemed “acceptable”. Yet another reason why YOU should know a professional detailer. There’s a difference between doing the work and doing the work the right way. I’m not saying anything bad about the shop the work was done at, there are so many things that can happen and it boils down to lack of experience and having the right tool for the job. And a black vehicle will show exactly who knows what they’re doing.
