Yesterday's program, At a Crossroad: Why Growth Matters for Lansing's Economic Future, tackled one of the most pressing questions facing our region: What happens if we choose not to grow?

The conversation unpacked why growth is critical to Lansing's long-term economic vitality and regional competitiveness, exploring recent population trends and projections through 2050, the growing impacts to economic development and what's at stake if we fail to act.

The takeaway was clear: growth is not optional. It is an urgent necessity for sustaining the quality of life Lansing residents expect, and a challenge the region can no longer afford to defer.

We were honored to welcome Harold Pope, candidate for the 74th House District seat in the Michigan State House of Representatives, to our Meet the Candidate Series.

Mr. Pope shared his vision for Michigan's future, addressing the key issues facing our state and making a compelling case for strong, engaged representation, particularly for the residents of Lansing and Delhi Township.

His insights sparked a genuinely thoughtful conversation, and we are grateful for the time he invested in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to McKinney & Associates for their generous and continued support of this important series. Your partnership makes these conversations possible.

The LRCC Delta Township-Eaton County Business Roundtable was held at Lansing's Capital Region International Airport (LAN) this week in partnership with Eaton RESA — and it did not disappoint.

We had the privilege of hearing directly from students participating in the Aviation Careers Institute, a remarkable program preparing the next generation of aviation professionals right here in our region. Their energy and ambition were truly inspiring.

Our roundtable also dug into the recently released Lansing Region Population Study from LEAP — with a focused conversation on Eaton County, Delta Township, and the City of Grand Ledge. The message was clear: if we want to grow our population, we must continue driving meaningful progress in economic development, housing, and infrastructure. These conversations are critical, and we're committed to keeping them going.

On top of that, there's a lot of exciting momentum building in Delta Township and Grand Ledge — new restaurants, commercial developments, and energy infrastructure projects are taking shape. The future of our region is bright, and it's being built right now. 💪
