Dear Lampasas,

I’d like to share with you something that has never happened to me before….I WAS TOLD NO….

Of course, I’ve been told no thousands of times personally, when it comes to family, friends, time, health, budget, God…even my dogs tell me “No”….but this was different.

I was offered a job that I quite simply REFUSED! I said, NO MA’AM! We do not, and will not take this job on!”…and yet…
I was told, “No”!

She was calling on behalf of her son and her mother who lived together in their family home here in Lampasas…as our neighbors, as our friends…as ppl we would NEVER KNOW TO BE STRUGGLING.

Yet they were. As the son and the grandmother did not have the strength nor voice to reach out, the daughter/mother did.

She contacted my company and explained the situation and circumstances…and it was a hard “No” from me…

I’ve cleaned up hoarding situations, f***s, brains, blood, and bone….but there are things even I’m afraid of….

And this was that! So I said, “No!”

But this mother of her son and daughter of her mother kept calling. Kept pleading, and every time I said “No”, she cried, “Then who’s going to help my family?!?”

I said, “No”!

And this mom/daughter said, “No”! right back.

My heart eventually caved. I talked my workers into it. I bought the Personal Protective Equipment to make it happen. Reserved the equipment and dumpsters. Paid my guys the incentive pay to get them on board and make it happen.

And spent the next two days in hazmat gear, respirators, and working in 100+ degree weather to complete the job…because a mom/daughter said “No. I will not let you say, “No”.

We completed the job. Changed lives; including our own, and I wholeheartedly believe will be forging the lives of future leaders because of it.

If anyone in our community thinks they are in an impossible, hopeless situation and needs help…please reach out to

You may get a lot of “NO”….but persistence might just get you that “Yes” that changes everything.

Today was hard…physically, emotionally, and mentally.

As most of you know, I own and operate Christy's Cleaning Crew. It’s our 14th year in business most of 76550 and surrounding zip codes call upon us for the hard stuff…the complex scenarios, sensitive issues…and when they need a crew to handle projects quickly and discreetly.

Today was oddly the same…but different…and it hit me hard. Please let me explain.

You see, in the past 13 years and 4 months, I’ve only had female clients contact me regarding hoarding projects…but a few days ago, I got a call to meet a male client and develop a plan for HIS home. Granted, his MOM called me, but it was because HE asked for HELP…something he (and many of us guys NEVER do).

Depression and pride had kept him from reaching out. That is not a gender thing, it’s a human thing…and this man reached out to him mom who reached out to us.

We met, discussed, and developed a plan, and today me and my crew executed this plan.

I had a roll off dumpster delivered, and despite working in the rain, we cleaned out this man’s home, and then cleaned his home, and gave him a brand new start.

Can you imagine finally being “grown” only to one day UNDERSTAND that you need help…to battle your depression, your sadness, and your feelings of helplessness…and can you imagine the COURAGE and BROKENNESS NECESSARY to reach out to your mom for help?!?

This is what had to transpire before today’s project to become a life changing reality for a very BRAVE young man…and his mama.

More and more of our jobs at Christy’s Cleaning Crew has been calls to clean out homes and properties that require roll off dumpsters to address hoarding situations.

And the more I do it, the more I want to refer these projects as “over accumulation jobs”!

We all simply work to earn money and opportunities, and we use these opportunities to live, pay bills, and honestly to over accumulate….And then one day…realize…we’ve got too much shtuff!!!

And then we realize that it’s a problem…and then one day, it will be our kids’ problem!

Today was bittersweet. A worker that had been here for years took flight today on her own journey…and Christy’s Cleaning Crew had to be without her.

When she first joined us, she was loud yet meek. She made it clear that she had no interest in any type of leadership position…but I’ve been bossing like a boss for a long time…and I knew there was potential for this young lady…

So I teamed her up with our current leaders at that time, and they hit it off!

Time went on, and this young lady began to glow as a Team Lead for our company and gained the confidence and understanding to one day run her own thing.

I’m proud to say that Holly Larosa turned in her resignation after 3 years working for Christy’s Cleaning Crew and will be doing her own thing and did so on professional terms.

She is no longer loud and meek.

She is now loud and proud!!!

I highly recommend her.

Christy’s Cleaning Crew constantly STAYS BOOKED. Yes, we are very good at this, but if it weren’t for your word of mouth, we’d not have seen this level of support, and many ppl would have never even heard of us.

But here we are, year 14, and I’m having to hire more ppl just to keep up with demand.

Our current up-tick is with realtors and individuals selling their homes. They find us attractive because we don’t just clean houses, but make properties more desirable.

We clean, wash windows, shampoo carpet, pressure wash, do landscaping, do junk removal, demo structures, polish floors clean restaurants, do small home repair projects, …and so much more…
