Coyote breeding season is active right now in Northwest Indiana.
From January through March, coyotes are pairing up and establishing territories. During this time, you may notice:
Increased howling, yipping, and vocal activity
Coyotes moving closer to homes, farms, and livestock
More daytime sightings
Increased boldness around pets and small animals.

Fox breeding season is also in full swing.
From January through February, foxes pair up and establish den sites. During this time, you may notice:
High-pitched screams or barking sounds at night
Increased daytime movement
Foxes scouting under sheds, decks, barns, and outbuildings
More bold behavior near homes and small livestock

Seeing them is not uncommon and cool to watch. We enjoy watching em as well, until they start causing trouble, but don't wait till it's too late if you start feeling uncomfortable or seeing your animals disappearing. Our team at 6B'S and PPE are ready and prepared at any given time for any critter issues.

Raccoon breeding season is active right now in Northwest Indiana.

From late January through March, raccoons become much more active as they search for mates.

Increased nighttime noise (fighting, chirping, growling)
More raccoons traveling during the day
Higher chances of attic, barn, and outbuilding break-ins
Tracks and damage suddenly appearing around homes and farms

By April–May, female raccoons may have dependent young in dens (attics, soffits, chimneys, barns, hollow trees). Removing adults too late can leave orphaned kits and create bigger problems. Avoid costly repairs and secondary wildlife problems
If you’re hearing noises, seeing signs, or noticing unusual raccoon activity in unwanted areas you know who to call.

From our family to yours, may you and your little critters have a great Merry Christmas.
