how it started vs how it's goin' 😎

the pecan trees haven't even started their war yet— the dirty pictures taken today will look clean compared to how it will be when i show up in the cooler months.
this pool will have two 5 GALLON BAGS full of leaves in it.. when i leave, its like the trees don't even exist (briefly, literally just long enough for me to run around and take pictures for the service email😅).

the love/ hate relationship i have with this pool is mesmerizingly toxic and i hope i care for this pool until i die.

per usual, the Prouts get to kick the weekend off by waking up to a gorgeous, sanitary, and safe pool ☀️

side note: yes the water is a little hazy.. phosphate remover 🙄 it'll be crystal clear in 2 hours

nothing says "happy monday" like accidentally falling into the deep end of the pool, fully clothed, pockets full of stuff at your first client's home within your first 90 seconds of being on site 😂😂😂😂😂😂

being first on the route has its perks: you wake up and look out the window.. the pool that was wrecked when you went to sleep is now perfect.

is your pool not equipped with an auto-filler and you're always worried you'll forget about your hose and over-flow your pool? do you forget about your hose and over-flow your pool? do you find it annoying to remind someone to turn the hose off if you have to leave? do you hate waiting around for your hose to fill your pool?

i present to you the best and cheapest solution: the $12 water timer. find them in the garden section at home depot, lowe's, etc.

put it on your faucet, attach your hose to it, leave the faucet on 24/7, turn the dial to the amount of minutes you want it to run, and forget about it. once the time is up, it stops the flow of water. no more worries. need it to run constantly? click the dial counterclockwise. just don't forget to click it clockwise back to off 😉

do they make nicer ones? yes.
do i recommend them? no.
why?
nicer ones take batteries. batteries don't like water. this device stays attached to your hose and is outside in the sun. the batteries are likely to get wet and/ or overheat thus the device is bound to malfunction. i've been down that road before. the trusty ol' $12 ticking water timer is the best route to go.

fancier alternative: the auto-filler that attaches to a hose, sits on the ledge of your pool, and has a float activated switch in it. that is the CMP Aqua Level Portable Auto Leveler if you're interested. they're about $100. CMP part number 25604-000-000. i think amazon has them. google it 🤙🏼

thankful for all of you who have a pool which is a size that can go from "uh oh it needs water, the pump is going to burn up" to "it'll be fine til next week" in about 30 minutes.

this heat has water evaporating like i forgot my noodle pot on the stove and took a nap

some of y'all would probably pass out if i put the critters i find regularly in y'all's pools in y'all's service emails ...

you know you've worked on pumps a lot when you can rebuild them in less than 40 minutes 😂 just took Logan Blair Comeaux pump from spinning and doing absolutely nothing to moving massive amounts of water with a few new parts in exactly 29 minutes.

how many leaks or bad noises did we have upon the very first reassembly and start up? zero 🤙🏼
how fast did it prime? instantly 👌🏼

i guess i've gotten good at this over the years 🤷🏼‍♂️

drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1-4.

drowning is silent. it's not like what you see in movies. there is rarely screaming or frantic splashing. if there is, it is extremely brief. if small children are around the pool and you hear a splash or a scream, look. every time.

drowning is fast. drowning can occur in less than 60 seconds.. a child can drown in as little as 20 seconds.

always have eyes on young children around pools. don't leave them unattended for any amount of time. remember, a child can drown in as little as 20 seconds. get a pool alarm. put up a protective barrier.

proper swimming lessons reduce the chance of young children drowning by over 85%.

have fun during pool season, but stay safe and proactive. your pool is fun, but it has the potential to be a silent killer.

adults can drown too but that is extremely rare. keep tabs on your drunk friends in the pool. if you notice an adult acting abnormally in a pool, act before you possibly have to save them. a panicking adult can drown you while trying to help them.
