Every time someone asks for a power washing company in a local group, the comments instantly fill up with:
“Me!”
“Message me!”
“I can do it!”
And now with AI, fancy websites, and edited photos… almost every company can LOOK professional online.
But here’s the reality consumers need to understand:
Owning a pressure washer does NOT make someone a professional exterior cleaning company.
This industry looks easy from the outside, but there’s a huge difference between someone cleaning properly and someone causing expensive damage.
Over the years, I’ve seen:
• Oxidation permanently disturbed on siding
• Concrete etched from too much pressure
• Roofs damaged from pressure washing
• Torn window screens
• Destroyed deck stain and wood fibers
• Water forced behind siding
• Dead landscaping from improper chemical use
The scary part?
A lot of the damage isn’t noticeable until the contractor is long gone.
When hiring a company, don’t just ask:
“How much?”
Ask:
• Are they insured?
• Do they specialize in soft washing?
• How do they protect plants and landscaping?
• What process do they use?
• How long have they been doing this professionally?
• Can they explain WHY they clean a certain way?
A true professional doesn’t just make your property look clean.
They know how to clean it SAFELY without causing damage.
Not all exterior cleaning companies are the same, and the cheapest price can sometimes become the most expensive mistake.
