Fleas are wingless insects that can jump up to 150 times their own body length.

Adult fleas survive by feeding on the blood of pets, wildlife, and people.

A single female flea can lay up to 50 eggs per day, allowing an infestation to grow quickly.

Flea eggs often fall off pets and collect in carpets, furniture, pet bedding, and cracks in floors.

Only about 5% of a flea infestation is made up of adult fleas. The other 95% are eggs, larvae, and pupae hidden in the environment.

Flea bites commonly cause itchy, red bumps, especially around the ankles and lower legs.

Fleas can survive for weeks or even months indoors under the right conditions.

Why Are Yellowjackets So Aggressive?

Yellowjackets aren't mean for no reason—they're protecting what matters most to them.

🐝 They're defending their nest. If you get too close, they see you as a threat and attack to protect their colony.

🐝 They can sting multiple times. Unlike honey bees, yellowjackets don't lose their stinger, so they can sting over and over.

🐝 They release an alarm pheromone. When one yellowjacket stings, it sends out a chemical signal that tells others to join the attack.

🐝 They're attracted to your food. Late in the summer, yellowjackets actively search for sugary drinks, fruit, and barbecue foods, making them more likely to bother people.

🐝 Their colonies are huge. By late summer, a single nest can contain thousands of yellowjackets, increasing the chance of encounters.

⚠️ Never spray a hidden yellowjacket nest with over-the-counter products. If the nest is inside a wall, soffit, or underground, spraying the entrance often drives the colony deeper into the structure and can make the problem much worse.
