Coronavirus: important to know. How often to clean the house during an epidemic
Collection rules: Learn how often you need to clean the house to protect yourself from viruses
Due to the spread of the coronavirus, many people are wondering how often it is necessary to clean their homes during an epidemic in order to try to protect themselves and their family as much as possible.
Cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces in a home is considered a good COVID-19 prevention method. Viruses can live on different surfaces from a few minutes to several days. For example, on plastic, glass and metal, the flu virus can last for seventy- two hours. Therefore, it is important to treat all surfaces with disinfectants.
Use gloves to keep bacteria and viruses off your hands, but also disinfect anything the gloves touch.
Of course, wet cleaning should be daily. And then the frequency of cleaning the house depends on many factors of housing pollution and can reach up to 2-3 times a day. For example, how many people live here and how often they leave the house, whether you have small children and pets, and even consider on which floor the apartment/living space is located - the higher it is, the less likely it is that harmful pollutants will get in.
Solid floor should be washed with a disinfectant or probiotic detergent to remove germs.
Carpets should be regularly vacuumed as bacteria, dust and dirt accumulate in them.
As dust appears on the smooth surfaces of furniture, it should be wiped with a damp cloth, not a dry cloth, so as not to breathe this dust or scratch your finishes.
In addition to the traditional process of dust removal and floor washing, it is important to pay special attention to things and surfaces that do not take a lot of time to clean during the coronavirus epidemic.
Try to wash the countertops after each use as they accumulate bacteria from objects, use and other things brought from the street.
Pay attention to items that are touched by unclean hands during the day, door handles, switches, keys, bags, wallets, faucets, buttons of various consoles, gadgets, as well as pencils, pens, scissors, knives, kettles and coffee makers - the list is very large. They should also be cleaned regularly after use.
It is important to clean these items with a soapy sponge first and then to disinfect. It is advisable to leave the disinfectant on the surface for 30 seconds and then wipe it off.
By the way, do not forget to disinfect the cleaning devices themselves after use - cloths, sponges, gloves, brushes, vacuum cleaner handles, brooms, scoops, buckets, etc., because they can be infected with germs and are nurseries for bacteria and viruses. Sponges and cloths can be washed in dishwashers and washing machines or washed in hot soapy water.
