Bees often land on the ground to rest as they are on their mission to find a place to build a hive. Sometimes they are on the ground because they fell from a higher resting place.

If you have bees on the ground they will usually move on by themselves within 24-48 hours. Many times quicker than that in the warmer weather months.

Over the past month our beekeeper has been working on setting up a new place to take our bee swarms, just in time for the 2020 swarm season. Super big thank you to Audiva Bateman 🐝😍

Nobody wanted to sit down and have lunch with these bees. 🐝❤️ We rescued them while we had an audience.

Our beekeeper Audiva is getting the bee yard prepped, expanded and ready for the 2020 season.🐝😍

We are so excited for the winter rain because that means the population of bees will remain at healthy levels in San Diego county for the 3rd year in a row. We are super thankful we can do our part to

For your enjoyment we got up-close and personal with a bee swarm as it was settling on a fence at a school. There was a hive located on a property adjacent to this one, not too far away. We are thinking this swarm came from that hive.

As temperatures drop for the winter we are still saving as many young bee swarms as we can. Many of these young swarm wont survive. Here's a video showing a live bee swarm removal from a palm tree 20ft off the ground. Then we show where we took them with an explaination of our process. We hope you enjoy a happy holiday and a happy new year.

Bees inside a trash can. The home owner didn't know the bees were in there until it was opened. This could have been a dangerous situation as the hive was disturbed and broken when the lid was originally removed. Good thing nobody was stung. This bee colony is alive and well at an apiary in East County San Diego.

It's always nice to walk through Balboa Park. Because there's always a chance you will spot a Bumble Bee. Unlike the honey bee, the Bumble Bee (Bombus affinis) is actually on the endangered species list.

Get a close up on a calm young hive (only a few weeks old) inside an irrigation box. Bee swarms sure do love irrigation boxes.

In our neck of the woods, we often encounter aggressive bees. It's always nice when we come across gentle bees.

For the safety of the meter technician (and people living nearby) call a live bee removal specialist as soon as you see bee activity. The older the hive, the more defensively the bees will react to protect it..
