We have gotten to a turning point in the sale of the store. Effective Monday, August 3, at 6pm we will no longer accept any clothes for cleaning or alterations at the store. We ask that all customers pick up your clothes by the end of the week, Thursday, August 6th at 6pm. Any clothes kept after that point, I will reach out personally and try to make arrangements to meet up, but if I can't contact you, they will be donated if not picked up by August 13.

The last 10 years have been some of the most rewarding and challenging times of my life. They say the first 5 years of business are the hardest. We went through a devastating fire, rebuilt, hit with COVID, recovered and then hit with hyperinflation and rising supply costs, started to recover and then life just caught up. We could not have survived this journey without Rita Whatley and Betty Grano, and our new family member Emma Martinez. I can't put into words the respect I have for these women and will forever be in their debt.

The cleaners will be a loss to the community when it comes to dry cleaning. But I will be reaching out to local laundry services to do whatever I can to help strengthen their businesses and ensure that the same quality of service is still available to the community. Rita has said she is interested in continuing alterations, so stay tuned for a posting from her.

Good Afternoon, There are several rumors going around about the sale of the store. I was trying to wait until next week, when I would feel more comfortable about posting something on social media. Here is where we are. Monday, July 13, 2026, we signed a contract to sell the real estate and its assets. We have a projected closing date of August 14. The sale is not final, and is still pending several items that are typical in any real estate sale. Please do not ask who is purchasing the building, that will not be released until after the sale is final.

The new buyer has stated that they do not plan on continuing to use the building as a cleaners. As of today, pending any changes in regard to the sale, Star Cleaners will be closing it's doors for good on August 13, 2026 at 6pm.

We have enjoyed serving the community over the last 10 years of our ownership, and we know the impact this will have on it. Please wish the girls well if you choose to visit us in the coming weeks. Please pick up any clothes you have dropped off or plan to drop off by August 13. I am working on a way to get customer clothes for those who can't make it by then.

If something changes regarding the contract to sell the real estate, I will post updates here.
