Wash winter fabrics before you store them.

Wash larger items, such as blankets, in a big front loader washing machine before you put them away for next winter. By cleaning winter coverings, drapes, and clothing now, you’ll be ready for winter when the cooler temperatures hit.

Most store-bought costumes weren’t meant to last long. Whether you intend to wear your favorite Halloween costume year after year, or pass it down to a family member or friend, you will want to wash it. We recommend washing Halloween costumes on delicate with cold water and always hang to dry!

How Often Should I Wash My Bed Sheets? Should be washed at least one time per week.

People sweat a lot as they sleep. The average person sweats about 25ml of sweat per hour and that all ends up in our sheets. We also shed skin. Yep, we shed. This shedded skin along with a warm environment, quickly becomes a paradise for dust mites. YIKES!

Pre-treatment for stains

The most important aspect of stain removal is pre-treating as soon as possible. The sooner you can soak or pre-treat a stain, the better your chances of being able to remove it. When pre-treating, always test a discreet area of fabric with a pre-treating solution to make sure the product doesn’t damage your garment. Apply pre-treatment remover only to the affected areas on the item and then let it sit for 10-15 minutes so it can soak thoroughly in the fabric and work its magic. While you can purchase stain removers from the store, vinegar works great for such purposes too.
