We just wrapped up a custom vent installation at an Airbnb in Gatlinburg, TN — and it’s a small detail that makes a BIG difference.

If your hardwood stairs feel slick… slippery… or even dangerous —
you’re not crazy.

This is one of the most common problems we see in homes.

The issue 👇
Most stairs are finished without an anti-skid additive, leaving them smooth like glass.

So what did we do here?

✔ Recoated the stairs with a proper finish + anti-skid additive
✔ Added subtle traction without changing the look
✔ Made them significantly safer for everyday use

But that’s not all…

We also performed a full clean & buff (floor reset) on the surrounding hardwood 👇
Removing:
• Built-up dirt and grime
• Residue from cleaning products
• Grease and contaminants

Bringing the floors back to their true natural look

⚠️ Quick note:
When we remove buildup, it can sometimes reveal pre-existing scratches or wear that were being hidden — not caused, just uncovered.
