What started as a “no cooling” call turned into a full system restoration and a reminder that proper diagnostics matter every step of the way.

On the initial visit, we found the system low on refrigerant, preventing the compressor from turning on. We returned with nitrogen and leak detection equipment and traced the issue back to a leaking evaporator coil.

After replacing the coil and recharging the system, another issue surfaced the compressor would not start. All electrical checks came back perfect, but the compressor itself had failed internally and was locked up.

We came back prepared, reclaimed the refrigerant, replaced the compressor, pulled the system down to a deep vacuum of 350 microns, and recharged it to factory standards.

Now the system is running exactly as it should cooling efficiently and reliably.

Why Does Your Pilot Light Keep Going Out?

If your fireplace pilot light won’t stay lit, don’t ignore it. It’s your system telling you something’s wrong.

Here are the most common reasons:

🔹 Dirty pilot assembly – Dust and debris can block gas flow.
🔹 Faulty thermocouple/thermopile – This safety sensor shuts off gas if it doesn’t detect heat. When weak, the flame won’t stay on.
🔹 Drafts or airflow issues – Strong air movement can blow the flame out.
🔹 Gas supply problems – Low pressure or valve issues can cause outages.
🔹 Worn components – Older fireplaces may simply need part replacement.

⚠️ A pilot light that won’t stay lit can affect performance and safety. It’s best to have it checked before using the fireplace regularly.
