This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including 1) Setting up work in blasting compounds and applying modern technology developed in the trade field and 2) Setting up, adjusting and operating power tools and equipment, hand tools and measuring instruments associated with the trade operations.
Conditions of Employment
US Citizen.
You will wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Be able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 100 pounds in weight.
Work multiple shifts and overtime shifts.
Maintain a clean driving record and possess a valid driver's license
Experience:
Sandblasting: 1 year or more
Knowledge of diesel engines
Knowledge of compressors
Job Summary:
Be proficient in surface cleaning, preparation and Sandblasting in order to accomplish assigned tasks, producing work of a high standard in accordance with Company’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Complete pre-start equipment check for functionality and safety prior to beginning task.
Clean and prepare surface areas prior to sandblasting.
Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
· Shovel or pour abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
Manipulate hose to direct stream of cleaning agent on surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt to prepare for paint.
Carry out abrasive sandblasting in accordance with policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe and clean assigned workstation.
Maintain sandblasting tools, truck and equipment.
Accurately maintain required records and documentation for each project.
Responsibly manage consumable supplies and raw materials.
· Report supply needs and equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
Follow ALL corporate safety requirements and standards, including but not limited to the use of respiratory equipment, protective clothing, protective lenses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.
Safely operate a forklift.
· Visually inspect quality of finished parts to ensure that the product meets specifications.
· Perform any other needed work functions when not sand blasting.

Salary: $14.00 to $17.00 /hour
