Jesus is the light of the world. James compared Jesus to a star or the sun. Ch 1:17- "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow."

The sun, never changes. It is always bright and hot, everyday. Sometimes it doesn't seem hot because clouds shield us from its heat or the earth has drifted away. Shadows move, because the earth moves not the sun. When the sun disappears, it is because the earth has turned away from the sun.

God never changes. He is always good and never far. When it seems otherwise we, not He, have turned from Him, drifted from Him, or allowed something to come between us and Him.

The moon is not a light but a reflection of the light of the sun. It is not visible without the sun. Monday I was in Indiana where I watched the moon eclipse the sun, 100%, for 3 minutes and 8 seconds. The mid-day light became darker than that of dusk. As the moon was blocking the sun, you could see the rays of the sun wrap around the edges of the moon. The moon was not able to completely suppress the sun's light.

Many are deceived and follow the reflection, instead of the light. Jesus is the light. Satan is only an angel of light, not The light. And even when he attempts to come between us and God, he cannot fully extinguish God's light. He is nothing without God and cannot keep us from God. Only we can suppress God's light , by turning our backs to Him, which brings the darkness of midnight.

Don't Get Scammed

If someone “Doctored” your chimney with a diagnosis of a "Level 2 fire hazard" with a risk of Carbon monoxide. Ask a fireman, (like my client Andrew, in the picture) “What is a Level 2 fire hazard?”. He will tell you that there is no such thing. You have been scammed. There are chimneys out there that are in need of repair to continue safe use. However, in over 25 years of sweeping chimneys, I have found that most chimneys just require a good sweeping to be used in a safe manner and most problems are a result of operator error.

When I first started sweeping chimneys, my old boss used me as a tool to perpetrate a variety of scams. When I realized my part in this, I left to start a company with a focus on education to correct operator error and protect against these fear tactics. In just the last 2 months I have refuted over $100,000 of unnecessary repairs by coming in to give a second bid on jobs quoted by other sweeps. Too be fair, some of these sweeps may not be unscrupulous. They may just be the ignorant "Christmas help" like I was 25 years ago.

Why shop PRICE when it comes to safety? Shouldn't you be shopping QUALITY? That said, paying a high price doesn't ensure quality. So, read reviews, preferably of smaller, local sweeps that don't hire temporary help for the holiday rush like the larger companies. I have 27 years of experience and I teach safe, efficient fireplace operation. Read my reviews and I think you'll agree that I should be charging as much as my larger, more criticized competition. I just saved "BR" from an $8500 scam. A chimney is a Class A vent which is far superior to the Class B vent in this quote. Questions-
1- Why install Ventless logs in a vented system?
2- Why replace a superior vent with an inferior one especially with logs that don't require a vent?
Don't get scammed. Most fireplaces don't need repair, just service. I teach safe and efficient fireplace use while I sweep and inspect your chimney. I have 27 years experience and I don't hire seasonal "Christmas" help like others. Because I'm just one man I can't chase all forms of media communications. The Stapletons were one of the many families, like my own, who lost power during the snow storm. Although it was more difficult without the assistance of my vacuum, I was able to sweep their chimney, without a mess, and get them a nice warm fire going before I headed out into the snow again to help another family without power.
