Today, Friday January 30th, we will remain open during ICE OUT. This was a difficult decision, but as a small business—especially after recent snow and the slow days that come with it—closing our doors simply isn’t something we’re able to do.
Here at Splash Laundry, we stand with the movement, with our neighbors, with Minneapolis, and against the current administration’s weaponization of ICE against hardworking Americans and the immigrants who make this country stronger every day.
That said, we are committing to action. We will be donating to Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation (AIRR KC) to support their work and advocacy for our local community.
At Splash Laundry, our priority is making sure our community feels safe, respected, and supported when they walk through our doors. We’re proud to be one of the last true “third places” in our community—a space where people from all walks of life come together. Every day, we’re grateful to get to know our neighbors and serve this community with care.
Finally, thank you to our community and customers for trusting us with your laundry and your presence. We believe diversity and inclusion are what make America great, and we never take the trust you place in us lightly.
