✨ MEET THE OWNER ✨
Hi friends! I’m Kasandra, the owner of Gleam + Grit Cleaning Services. 🩷
I share a lot of clean homes, before-and-afters, stubborn sinks, and the occasional cleaning job that makes me question all of my life choices 😂, but I realized I don’t share nearly as much about the person behind the business.
So, hi! 👋🏻
I’m a wife, a mom of six, and these days we have just one kiddo left at home—our 13-year-old son, whom I homeschool. Having older kids and one still at home means we’re in this funny season of life where we’re watching some of our kids build lives of their own while still very much in the middle of raising one.
I’m married to my amazing husband, DJ, who has been doing custom tile work for 25 years. So between his tile business and my cleaning business, you could say our household has a slightly unhealthy obsession with floors. 😂
We’re both hard workers, sometimes to a fault, and we understand what it means to come home exhausted after spending all day taking care of someone else’s home.
And honestly, that’s a big part of why I love what I do.
I know what real homes look like. Because I live in one.
They have dog hair. They have dusty baseboards. Kids use the bathroom and somehow toothpaste ends up places that defy the laws of physics. 😂 Life gets busy, things get behind, and sometimes cleaning is the very last thing you want to spend your limited free time doing.
There is absolutely no judgment when I walk into your home.
I’m not there to inspect how well you’ve kept up with things. I’m there because you’ve trusted me to take something off your plate…and I take that seriously.
If you’ve followed Gleam + Grit for any length of time, you also know I’m a little stubborn when it comes to cleaning. 😂
Okay… maybe a lot stubborn.
I notice the little things. I notice the baseboards, the buildup around the faucet, the corners everyone forgets and apparently I’m willing to scrub a sink until my fingers go numb because I refuse to let an inanimate object defeat me. 🤣
Hence the name Gleam + Grit.
There’s the gleam: the clean, shiny home at the end.
But there’s also a whole lot of grit behind it.
I’ve learned that cleaning someone’s home is actually a pretty personal job. Clients trust me inside the place where their families live, where their kids grow up, where life happens…and that trust means more to me than I can really put into words.
I don’t want to be the cleaner who rushes through your house just to get to the next one.
Some people clean houses. I care for homes.
That’s always been the heart behind my business.
My faith is also a huge part of who I am. I believe God has a purpose for the places He puts us and the people He places in our lives. I try to approach this business with that same heart…to work hard, serve people well, and be grateful for every door that has opened along the way.
When I’m not cleaning, I’m usually homeschooling, spending time with my family, or telling myself that next week I’m definitely going to slow down.
I never do. 🤣
Our life looks a lot different than it did when all six kids were under our roof. It’s a little quieter these days…but between kids, grown kids, spouses, family, work, and everything else life throws our way, there’s still never a shortage of chaos.
And I wouldn’t trade it.

Every client who chooses me allows me to continue doing something I’m proud of while also being present for my family and homeschooling our son.
That means more to me than you probably realize. 🥹
