TOS Cleaning- Permanently closed
TOS Cleaning formally known as Touches of Splendor has officially ended.
Oct 3rd, 2008 - Jan 22nd, 2022
13.5 years and probably over 700 employees over the years.
This has never been 'my business'. As my dear friend reminded me the other day as I was trying to fathom my life without TOS, she said TOS has always been ministry. A ministry of 2nd chances, a ministry of redemption, a ministry of restoration.
So many times, on paper my accountant would shake his head and say I don't even know how your still in business. On paper, it definitely doesn't make sense. But this was never my business. God has owned it from the very beginning. And so many times this business has been able to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to fund many blessings to many people and to the church. God has stretched the finances (that don't make sense on paper) like 5 loaves and 2 fish to a multitude. I am humbled by all God has done in almost 14 years.
It has provided the livelihood for many families including ours. Johnnie and I worked so hard all these years but it is time for this chapter to close.
Joe has so lovingly been guiding me through this very difficult decision but I have sweet peace now knowing our employees and accounts will be taken care of with the same Christ like spirit & foundation. We were able to bless Abundant Shine Janitorial with both our employees and accounts. (No. We did not sell the business)
So now to a new chapter of being able to focus entirely on Life Church which has always been my heartbeat. No, I will not be paid, at all. I am thankful to just be and do what I love.
Ty to all our family who have not just supported the TOS dream but jumped in over and over again to work & carry the weight.
Ty to one of my greatest team players of all time, my MVP, ride or die partner in crime, Terrie Jones who has rode out the waves with me and been loyal as a friend and employee. She more than stepped up after the explosion, in protection of me and carried so many accounts so that I didn't have to worry and could grieve & heal this past year and a half.
Ty to Tasha Brown who has carried this ship for me for many months now so that I could focus on all the legal proceedings that continue and my full time work at the church. I finally got my answer to prayer to have her by my side but didn't know it would be in the very season I needed her the most.
Ty to my kiddos (Chandler Davis) who have had to make a lot of sacrifices growing up and a lot of sharing mom and dad for us to build this company. I pray they could see us living Matthew 6:33 and the true benefit of working hard and pursuing your dreams.
Ty to all of my parents who have kept the kids over and over, worked the jobs, bid the jobs and so much more over the years.
Ty to my late husband Johnnie Schofield who truly had an entrepreneur passion to build something from the ground up. His ability to build the construction division into a reality like no one else is what carried this business in its greatest years. Without him it was just never the same. I honor you and the years of such hard work, perseverance and trying to balance it all.
Ty to my husband Joe Ellis who left a great company with excellent money and benefits to clean toilets. Lol. No really, he jumped in with both feet to a business he knew nothing about and was my strength day in and out on the many days I cried and said I have nothing left in me to give. Working hard to keep things rolling and become the leader everyone could depend on while I was away.
Most of all Ty Jesus for your faithfulness. I am nothing without you and I'll never be able to thank you for all your goodness.
