Many chemotherapy medications are designed to destroy rapidly dividing cells. Unfortunately, these powerful drugs also disrupt the beneficial bacteria that septic systems rely on to function properly.

When bacteria are negatively affected, septic systems do not break down waste as efficiently. During treatment, this means more frequent septic pumping is needed to help prevent damage or costly system failures.

The reality is that most families are never told this.

Thatโ€™s why Pumps for Patients exists.

Our nonprofit works to raise awareness about this often-overlooked issue while supporting families who rely on septic systems during cancer treatment.

Through our network of septic professionals across the country, Pumps for Patients coordinates septic pumping services at no cost to qualifying patients whenever possible. Our program is donation-funded, and those donations go directly toward providing pumping services for vetted applicants who need assistance.

Our goal is simple: remove a financial burden from families already facing so much.

If you or someone you know is undergoing chemotherapy and lives in a home with a septic system, we encourage you to learn more.

And if you're a septic professional who wants to support patients in your community, we would love to connect with you.

Together, we can help ensure families facing cancer donโ€™t have to face septic system problems too.

I have partnered with Pumps for Patients! Check out there site for more information. If you or if you know someone that needs help with septic service needs while going through chemotherapy. They will connect you with a septic pumper in your area so you donโ€™t have to stress over the maintenance of your septic tank. They have great information on proper maintenance.
I look forward to working with pumps tor patients.

Did you know that septic systems need to be cleaned every 3-5 years?
The longer you wait the more scum and sludge build up. This can cause backups into the house. Most backups occur during family gatherings, holidays, weddings, and other events that overuse the system. The septic system is designed for the number of bedrooms in a house. During gatherings your system gets over loaded and if it hasnโ€™t been cleaned in a long time it will slow down going into the drain field causing a backup.

Your system is like a car engine. After a certain time of not changing the oil, your engine is going to start having problems. The healthier the system, the longer it will last.
Give us a call today to get your system back to optimal conditions!

Do you have a newer system?
Newer systems have an effluent filter which is designed to keep sludge and scum from entering into your leach field. A service to clean this filter is needed every six months to a year. If this is something that you donโ€™t want to mess with or is gross to you give us a call and we will come out to take care of it. We can also inspect the tank to see when a septic tank cleaning will be needed.

If the end of the vent pipe is plugged, proper draining will be hampered and air will be pulled into the piping, which will drain the traps of water fixtures. This allows sewer gas into the house. The gas, primarily composed of methane and carbon monoxide, will have an obvious โ€œsewerโ€ smell; however, some harmful gases are odorless.

The first indication of trouble may be the toilet gurgling or not flushing properly as water is pulled from the traps to replace existing water and air flow. Sewer gas may cause people to become sick with symptoms such as headache, nausea and/or dizziness.

Please be aware and check your vents.
