🌟 Proud Dad Moment 🌟
I just had an incredible experience with my daughter Ellie that reminded me of the immense value in teaching kids about hard work, finance, capitalism, the value of labor, and the importance of knowledge and experience firsthand. 💪👧
Today, we were tackling a job together - installing (3) hand towel hangers, one in each bathroom. I didn't give Ellie much instruction, instead, I let her rely on the install guide provided and her own problem-solving skills. She struggled at first and, as any parent knows, using the Socratic method with a determined tween can be quite a challenge! 😅
But here's where the magic happened. Instead of giving up, Ellie powered through. She persevered and, with determination, successfully executed the task by herself in all three bathrooms. Her tenacity truly humbled and impressed me. 🛠️👏
Teaching our kids these real-world lessons is so important. As a dad, I believe there's immense value in sharing these experiences. Did you know that kids who learn practical skills and financial literacy early on are more likely to succeed in adulthood? 📚💼
Now, why is it doubly important that it's their father doing the teaching? Studies show that children who have involved fathers tend to do better academically, exhibit healthier social behavior, and have a higher level of self-confidence. 👨👧👨👦
I'm incredibly proud of Ellie for her hard work and commitment. She's not just learning about handyman skills; she's learning life skills that will serve her well in the future. And, of course, Max did pretty well too, but that's a story for another day! 😄
