I know social media has y’all minds all f***ed up, but I just wanna say a few more things.

A regular life is ok!

Brunch at home is ok!

Dating a man who makes a normal salary, ok!

A normal house with a normal kitchen, ok!

A normal healthy body with a normal or small sized ass and tittys is ok!

Apartment life, ok!

Healthy kids who don’t dance for the gram, wear kid clothes, and don’t throw a ball on a field are still perfect children and have plenty to brag about!

Working towards your goals and it taking years is ok!

Budgeting in between pay periods is ok!

Making normal goals, ok!

Eating at Applebees in a sweatsuit is ok!

Driving a paid off car with cloth seats & a couple dings is ok!

Wanting to be married, ok!

Wanting to be in love, ok!

Being romantic, ok!

A regular hotel on vacation, ok!

A Walmart wardrobe, ok!

Circle K coffee, ok!

Minimal make up & a hair clip, ok!

Please STOP letting the glamorization of the 1% keep you in a depressive state wishing for a life, body, house, portfolio that was never created for you.

It is ok to live a normal life and be happy and grateful!

Running a business is really hard.

Making sure your people are happy, making sure there's enough work to go around and making sure everything continues as planned is quite the challenge.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

People will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent,family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!
