Protect your home and health

As part of our commitment to maintaining the safety and comfort of your home, we wanted to take a moment to discuss a commonly overlooked issue: the presence of mold. While it might seem insignificant, mold can pose significant health risks and cause structural damage to your property.

Mold thrives in damp environments and can quickly spread if not addressed. It's often found in bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and other areas where moisture is present. While some types of mold are visible and produce a musty odor, others can lurk unseen under flooring, inside walls, or in the attic.

Health risks associated with mold exposure can range from allergic reactions—such as nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, coughing, or wheezing—to more severe health problems, particularly in people with respiratory conditions or weakened immune systems.

On top of health concerns, unchecked mold can lead to significant structural damage in your home. It can eat away at wood, compromise structural integrity, and cause unsightly stains and smells.

If you suspect mold in your home, it's crucial to reach out to professionals. DIY solutions can often exacerbate the problem or fail to fully eradicate the mold, allowing it to grow back.

At AIT, our team of certified experts is trained to identify, isolate, and eliminate mold safely and effectively. We can also provide you with tips and strategies to prevent mold regrowth, ensuring your home remains a safe and healthy environment for you and your loved ones.

If you have any concerns about mold in your home or would like to schedule a free inspection, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We're here to help you protect what matters most.

A few tips to improve indoor air quality...

Indoor air quality is important to your health and overall comfort. Below are a few things you can do to quickly and inexpensively improve the air in your home or business.

1. Keep your rugs and carpets clean. Regularly cleaning the carpet in your home will cut down on dust and pet dander.

2. Control the humidity in your home. Your air conditioning unit is not actually designed to cool your home; it's designed to condition the air by removing humidity. A healthy humidity for indoor air quality is 30-50%. Try to avoid turning OFF your AC as this will increase the humidity in the air.

3. Change your AC filters regularly. Changing your air filters allows for air to pass freely through your AC unit. Filters should be changed every 30-60 days.

4. Integrate indoor plants into your home décor. Yes, plants! There are several plants that remove humidity from the air and in turn improve the air quality. A few plants you can get at your local hardware store are Snake Plants, Orchids, Lilies, Ferns and Palm Trees.

5. Inspect your air ducts. Take a quick look every few weeks at your air vents and air ducts. If there is a significant amount of dirt or debris then there is a chance that dust is being spread throughout the home.

Doing these things will quickly improve the air quality in your home or business. If you have any questions call us at 904-373-0198. Remember, AIT is All It Takes!
