Look at this pattern up close 🎃🕷️

This is the same species of pumpkin spider (marbled orb-weaver) that we shared earlier this week. Up close, you can see exactly why "marbled" is in the name.

Does anyone else see a face in there, or is it just us? 😅

Quick facts before Halloween:
• Fall is when you'll spot the big, colorful females
• She'll tuck her egg sac somewhere sheltered, and the adults don't survive the winter
• She's built to sit in her web catching bugs, not to bother people

One on your porch this week? Free Halloween decoration with pest control built in.

Tell us what you see in the pattern 👇

Spiders setting up inside instead? That's our department. Call or text (607) 269-6218 or visit nolanpestcontrol.com

🎃 Holiday baking season is almost here — and so are pantry pests across Wayne, Ontario, and Tompkins counties.

Indian meal moths and grain beetles hitchhike home in flour, cereal, rice, and pet food. 3 tips before you bake:
1️⃣ Check packages for tiny holes, webbing, or wriggling larvae before buying.
2️⃣ Store flour, sugar, and grains in airtight containers.
3️⃣ Toss anything infested (bag it tight!) and vacuum the shelf.

They won't make you sick, but nobody wants extra protein in the pie crust. 🥧

Message the Page or visit www.nolanpestcontrol.com if pests moved into your pantry.

Meet the pumpkin spider 🎃🕷️

This is a marbled orb-weaver — and yes, that's a hand behind it for scale. They show up every fall around Wayne, Ontario & Tompkins counties, and with that orange-and-yellow pattern, it's easy to see how they got the nickname.

The good news: they're harmless to people and great to have around. They rebuild that web almost every night and spend the season catching the bugs you don't want.

They love doorways, porch corners, and trails — usually right at face height. 😅

Tell the truth — do you walk through the web, or turn around and find another way?

We leave these outdoors where they belong — but if spiders are moving INSIDE your house this fall, message us or visit www.nolanpestcontrol.com

The freeze hit Wayne, Ontario, and Tompkins counties hard this past weekend—and that's exactly when mice make their move inside. ❄⁃

Check your pantry tonight: look for nibbled corners on cereal boxes or droppings in the back of cabinets. If you see signs, they've already settled in for the winter.

We're out today sealing entry points and setting up professional protection to keep them out for good. Drop a comment below or message us to get an inspection scheduled before a small problem becomes a big infestation!

🐀 It's Rodent Awareness Week — sharing this from Bell Laboratories, Inc. on roof rats.

Roof rats are great climbers, so prevention means sealing the entry points they use: exhaust ports, vines, conduits, and tree branches hanging over the roof. Rodents also destroy a huge share of the world's food supply.

With temps dropping, we're seeing rodents move in across Wayne, Ontario & Tompkins counties. Need an inspection? Message us here or visit www.nolanpestcontrol.com

Rodent season is here — and mice are moving in for the winter.

As temperatures drop, mice look for warmth and shelter. Your garage, basement, attic, or crawl space is what they're after — and one mouse rarely stays alone.

First hard freeze hits Friday night (~31°F) — exactly when mice look for a warm house. Sealing entry points this week is the move.

That's us loading rodent bait stations for a job. Placed right, plus sealing entry points, they stop the problem — not just catch one mouse in a trap.

Watch for these signs:
- Droppings in cabinets, basement, or garage
- Scratching in walls or ceilings at night
- Chewed packaging, wiring, or insulation

Mice fit through a dime-size hole, so an inspection now can save a bigger problem this winter.
