Before a hurricane, here's what to do with your pool

• Do not drain your pool. There is a lot of groundwater after storms, and it could cause your pool to float out of the ground. The water inside the pool will help weigh it down.

• Turn off power to the pump motor, lights and other equipment at the circuit box.

• Remove any and all loose objects, such as chairs, tables, pool equipment and even toys, which can become dangerous projectiles in high winds. DO NOT PUT THESE ITEMA IN THE POOL!

• Remove automatic pool cleaners, pool blankets and covers, and take them inside.
Don't throw or drop anything into a pool that could damage the pool walls or bottom (especially vinyl-lined or fiberglass).

• Consider removing diving boards and slides if you fear they won’t be secure in high winds. If you decide to remove them, try to have a professional do it.

• Super-chlorinate or double chemicals you normally add to reduce contamination and infestation by insects.

• Be patient with your pool maintenance company They have also just went through the same storm as you did along with ever other pool Owner in your area. They will get to you as soon. As they can.
