Dear Supporters of our Animals...the number of dogs needing to be rehomed in our community has reached astounding levels. We have 117 dogs PLUS over 20 puppies on a list waiting to be surrendered to our shelter. We have another 15 puppies in foster homes.
We can NOT take any walk-in surrenders of any kind. Due to the high amount of animals who are on our list and to prevent the spread of disease, we do NOT take in stray animals of any kind. If you find a stray animal, please take it to a vet or shelter to have it scanned for a microchip or call animal control for your city/county.
Due to the high amount of cat adoptions we've had lately, please call us to surrender your cat and we will likely be able to get it in quickly or even same-day if it's fixed.
We wish that we could do more but we are at capacity. Please help us by sharing our Facebook posts on our available dogs. The faster we can adopt a dog out, the faster we can move through our waitlist.
If you have a pet, please get it spayed or neutered. You would be shocked at how many accidental pregnancies we see here of dogs and cats who "never leave the house."
If you're considering a pet, please think of every aspect of your life before buying or adopting a pet. Could you be moving soon? Could you have to downsize into a smaller place? Are you considering adding a large dog but live in a residence without a yard or fence? Are you willing to put in time to train a puppy...potty training, etc.?
Please remember that owning a pet is a lifetime commitment. We have no intention of shaming anyone for surrendering a pet. We know that situations occur where it's the best thing for the person and the pet to be in a different home. Our staff treats every surrenderer with compassion and care. But many unsheltered pets could be in a different situation if owners carefully considered all the factors that go into ownership prior to adoption/purchase and/or spaying & neutering their pet.
