From our swimming pool service and repair division, I believe we’re assembling the finest team of swimming pool professionals in Austin. We have 80 years of combined service experience and continue to train on the newest and latest equipment being manufactured. Our relationships with the manufacturers is one of our greatest assets as we’re a warranty station for both Pentair and Fluidra.
We are continuing to have challenges when it comes to repair items. Manufacturers experienced record demand in 2020 due to new pool starts and it continued into 2021 and made worse by the freeze of the century. An estimated 200,000 pools in Texas alone were reported with freeze damage. Manufacturing is at capacity and made worse due to the Delta variant of COVID as we all continue to be affected.
Additionally, it is true that central Texas is experiencing a chemical shortage and prices continue to increase. We are doing our best to maintain our current prices and I don’t foresee any increase this year. Hopefully we’ll be completely over the COVID of 2020 and The Big Freeze of 2021 by year 2022. :) That said, we recommend a mineral balance at least once a year for your pool. This balance is a $95 cost and is a natural algae inhibitor and clarifier. Remember your filter service as well. If you have a DE or cartridge filter, the manufacturer recommends a minimum of 2 filter services a year ($135 each) but in some cases it’s better to have it 3 times a year.
Although our techs do prepare work orders, it is imperative that you communicate with our office via phone call at 512-609-8363 or by email. This ensures your concerns are addressed and we can log in our customer management program. If you have communicated with someone other than the office and have not received any reply, please call the number above. If you have a repair we will send a work order/estimate to you for approval. Sometimes this comes with a diagnostic fee. This diagnostic fee is applied to a repair if you accept within 48 hours and will reduce from the final invoice by the diagnostic amount. Once the work order is accepted, we then order repair items and schedule repair.
Our lawn service and landscaping division continues to grow. We service both commercial and residential accounts. It always makes us happy to have current customers recommend us to their friends and neighbors. If you have a referral for us there's a gift card coming your way!
Our chemical service includes w**d control and fertilization, pest control (outside), and aeration. Also, we offer chemical service for the do it yourself homeowner. If this is a service you’d be interested in call us at 512-609-8363 and ask for Scott.
I know it’s hard to believe, but from our Christmas Light division, it is time to start scheduling your installation. For new customers, please call us to discuss measurements and color options as it is time to preorder and our schedule does fill up fast. We measure and install your Christmas lights, take down and store for the following year. As funny as it sounds, we do start decorations in October wrapping trees and some of the more complicated tasks. Please keep in mind that squirrel damage is not covered under our warranty, but most everything else is. Call us for details.
Lastly, we’re doing everything we can to keep costs in check as inflation is causing cost of almost all goods to increase at a crazy rate. Major Services will be instituting a convenience fee of 4% on credit card payments over $300. This small convenience fee helps enable us in keeping our costs to you as low as possible. Additionally, at this time we'll have to enact a late payment fee. If a current invoice is not paid within 15 days we'll include a 15% late fee on the following invoice cycle. This will start on the September 2021 billing cycle. We do have many other payment options available, so please call to discuss.
I believe COVID-19 has affected most of us and we're no exception. Our employees have lost family members and others have been hospitalized due to this illness. Please keep these good people in your thoughts and prayers for healing and comfort.
