🪳 PEST SPOTLIGHT: ORIENTAL COCKROACH
Check out this close-up we captured of a female Oriental cockroach (Blatta orientalis) feeding.
Often called a “water bug,” this large cockroach prefers cool, damp areas and is commonly found around drains, sewers, crawl spaces, plumbing, leaf litter, compost, underneath porches and other moist areas around structures.
Unlike German cockroaches, Oriental cockroaches typically live outdoors or around ground-level moisture, but they can enter homes through foundation cracks, plumbing/sewer penetrations and gaps beneath doors.
Seeing one occasionally may simply mean an outdoor roach found its way inside—but repeated sightings can point to a moisture, harborage or entry-point problem.
At Green Services Termite & Pest Control, we don’t just treat the pest you see—we look for why it’s there in the first place.
