This weekend I had a chance to test drive the BISSELL Crosswave cordless Hardwood/Area Rug cleaner. The reason for my purchase was pretty simple . As a home full time home cleaner, I am always on the lookout for products that are user friendly as well as tougher on fighting grime .
My current floor cleaning tool is the Ocedar Spin Mop. The Ocedar has been a great product however, it gets quite heavy after you lift the bucket full of water up and down to refill and empty. That might not seem like a lot but I do change the water on the bucket frequently per appointment, and my back gets pretty sore. Also, the washable mop heads have to be washed after every use and are also $7.99 each to replace .
The Bissell Crossover is a fabulous product! It is easy to set up out of the box . You can set up the Bissell app on your phone which keeps track of your usage, filter and brush roll life. The app also has set up and other helpful videos .
There are separate compartments for the soap and water and another for the dirty water. In the dirty water compartment is a collection base where pet hair, dirt and whatever else is vacuumed up collects all that it does not get trapped in the brush roller. I personally will still vacuum floors with a regular vacuum, just to save on ware and tear for my unit.
The Crosswave comes with a base which also acts as a charging station . There is a digital display that shows the charging status . Initially, you have to charge the machine for 4 hours. The battery life is 30 minutes, which was plenty of time to do all of the floors in my house . Charging time after that is less than an hour . This unit also can vacuum the floor at the same time that it wet mops.
The BEST feature is the self cleaning feature . Knowing that I will use this machine for several hours, I do not have time to clean this at the end of the day. All you have to do is put the Crosswave on the charging station, push a button, and it pumps soap through the roller brush and sucks the dirty water out .
I have pictures below of how well the Crosswave removes stains and also how much dirt came out of area rugs and floors. I did wet mop the floors less than a week ago so as you can see, the Crosswave is a great product!
