There’s something I’ve realized very clearly this past week…
My job is so much more than cleaning houses. ❤️
I’ve had people ask me before, “Do you actually like cleaning?” or tell me, “I could never do that,” and I’ve even heard comments asking if I ever feel like what I do is degrading.
The answer is absolutely not.
I don’t hate cleaning. I’m good at it. I take pride in it. And I truly, genuinely love what I do.
But over time, I’ve realized that the cleaning is only one small part of what I’m really doing.
When you’ve been with a client for a long time, there becomes a level of trust, friendship, and connection that goes far beyond a cleaning appointment. I become a small part of their household. Sometimes, it honestly feels like I become part of their family.
I’m there when life is hectic. I’m there when someone is sick or hurting. I’m there during home remodels, stressful seasons, and times when life feels like an absolute mess.
Sometimes that looks like leaving a get well note for a sick kiddo. Sometimes it’s bringing treats for the dogs. Sometimes it’s listening when someone is lonely and just needs the company. Or doing that little extra that I'm not being paid for just because they need help. Sometimes it’s simply walking through the door, getting to work, and taking one more thing off someone’s already-full plate.
And sometimes, it’s being there while someone is grieving the loss of a loved one and knowing that even if I can’t fix what they’re going through, I can at least make their home feel a little lighter.
That’s what I love about this business.
I’m not just there to clean your house.
I’m there to make your day a little easier. To take some of the burden off your shoulders. To give you a clean, peaceful space to come home to. To listen when you need an ear. To celebrate the good moments with you and be there through the hard ones.
I’m not ashamed of what I do. I’m proud of it.
And I’m incredibly grateful for every client who has trusted me with their home, welcomed me into their lives, and continued to choose me week after week, month after month, and year after year.
I started Keep It Fresh Cleaning Services because I knew I could clean a house.
I never expected that along the way, I’d build relationships, friendships, and little pieces of family that would mean so much to me.
And somehow, that has become my favorite part of the job. 🩵
Thank you to every single one of you who has allowed me into your home and your life.
I truly love what I do. 🩵
