Good As New Blankets was created to provide the community with a quality horse blanket washing and repair service. We have been servicing the Livingston County area since 2010. Since that time, we have gained many loyal customers in the area and expanded to the nearby counties as well. We pride ourse

lves on providing excellent service, quick turn-around times and a superior finished product. We are true horse lovers and find it very fulfilling to provide other horse lovers with a way to save money and protect the health of their animals.

Good as New Blankets is thrilled to be starting a new chapter with the Eastern Michigan Arabian Association community, and we can't wait to meet so many of you this weekend!

📍 You can find us in the Dickinson Barn, Stall #43 — right next to the main arena!

🕛 We'll be set up from noon on Friday through Sunday. If you'd like to drop off, come visit us! Our final drop-off time is 10AM on Sunday.

Good morning from Good as New Blankets 🐴

With the recent rise in EHV-1 and other infectious diseases, we wanted to take a moment to share some education around equine illness and biosecurity—especially as it relates to shared spaces, equipment, and equine laundry.

While many experts are currently focusing on educating the industry about EHV-1, a lesser discussed—but equally important—topic is “strep” in horses. When people refer to a horse having “strep, but not strangles,” they are often talking about the same thing. Strangles is caused by Streptococcus equi. One of the biggest challenges with this disease is how difficult it is to eliminate, as many standard disinfectants are not effective against it.

Because of that, we take biosecurity very seriously. We are continuously doing our due diligence to ensure the products and processes we use are effective at disinfecting equine laundry while remaining safe for blankets and gear. Keeping everyone’s horses protected is always our priority.

We also want to sincerely thank everyone who communicates openly about illness or possible exposure before bringing items in. That transparency allows us to take the appropriate precautions and helps protect the wider equine community.

Here’s what that looks like at Good as New Blankets:
• Items are double-bagged
• Loads are quarantined when needed
• Machines are bleached between washes
• We use cleaning products that are tough on germs but safe for equine fabrics
