Vinegar can be a good cleaning agent because it's acidic enough to remove stains and deposits, but mild enough to not damage surfaces and fabrics. Vinegar has a pH as low as 2.2, which is about 10 times more acidic than soda. Here are some ways you can use vinegar for cleaning:
Unclog drains
Vinegar and baking soda can be an effective natural way to unclog drains, especially for weaker clogs.
Kill weeds
Vinegar's acetic acid can draw moisture out of weeds and kill them.
Clean cutting boards
Vinegar can kill bacteria and organisms that can cause food-related illnesses like E. coli and Salmonella.
Absorb odors
Vinegar can absorb odors instead of masking them. You can fill a bowl with vinegar, a few drops of lemon juice, and possibly some essential oils, and place it in the room that smells the worst.
Descale coffee makers
Cleaning vinegar can remove limescale, bacteria, and oils that can make coffee taste bad. You can descale your coffee maker every three to six months.
Remove rust
Vinegar's acid can lift rust because the iron oxide displaces the hydrogen ion in the acid.
Clean rugs
Vinegar can clean rugs without harming them, as long as you don't leave it on for too long. Vinegar can also absorb odors from rugs, and the smell will eventually go away.
Clean pots and pans
You can remove tough stains from sheet pans by mixing equal parts water and vinegar, bringing it to a boil, pouring it over the pan, and letting it sit for a few minutes.
