How to deep clean your oven:
1. **Remove the racks and drip pans.** These will be the easiest to clean, so you can start with them. Wash them in hot, soapy water and then rinse them well.
2. **Empty the oven.** If there's any food or spills inside, remove them now. You can use a vacuum cleaner to get up the crumbs and then wipe down the inside of the oven with a damp cloth.
3. **Make a paste of baking soda and water.** You'll need about 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of water. Mix the two ingredients together until they form a thick paste.
4. **Spread the paste all over the inside of the oven.** Use a spatula or your hands to get it into all the nooks and crannies.
5. **Let the paste sit overnight.** The baking soda will absorb the grease and grime, making it easier to clean.
6. **The next morning, wipe down the inside of the oven with a damp cloth.** The paste should come off easily. If there are any stubborn spots, you can use a brush to scrub them away.
7. **Rinse the oven with water.** Make sure to get all the baking soda residue out of the oven.
8. **Dry the oven with a towel.** You're done!
Here are some tips for deep cleaning an oven:
* If your oven has a self-cleaning cycle, you can use that instead of following these steps. However, the self-cleaning cycle may not remove all the grease and grime, so you may still need to clean the oven manually.
* If your oven is really dirty, you may need to repeat the steps above multiple times.
* If you have a pyrolytic oven, you can use the pyrolysis cycle to deep clean the oven. The pyrolysis cycle heats the oven to a very high temperature, which vaporizes the grease and grime.
* Be careful when using baking soda and vinegar to clean an oven. The combination of these two ingredients can create a fizzy solution that can erupt if it's not contained. This will make any of your guests ask the infamous question “Who’s Your Cleaner?”
