A business mistake does NOT give you permission to bully an employee.
If you are a customer and a business makes a mistake, and that mistake is acknowledged and corrected, that should be the end of it. You do not have the right to continue confronting, belittling, or intimidating an employeeâespecially after you have been told that the employee is autistic and may process confrontation differently.
Today, this 4'10" woman suddenly became about 10 feet tall and bulletproof. đ
I will always do my best to treat customers with kindness and respect. If we make a mistake, we will own it and do our best to make it right. But kindness and customer service should never be mistaken for permission to mistreat the people who work for us.
And if I see someone trying to bully or intimidate an employeeâespecially someone who may have difficulty advocating for themselvesâyou are no longer dealing with that employee. You are dealing with me.
We can correct a mistake.
We can refund money.
We can apologize.
We can find a solution.
But what we will not do is stand by and allow someone to be bullied.
Today, 4'10" became 10 feet tall real quick. đ
Be kind. You never know what someone else is navigating.
