The cushions on your lanai look fine to you because you see them every day. This is what came out of one of them.

Outdoor fabric sits through sun, rain and salt air, holding all of it down in the foam where wiping the surface never reaches.

So we take every cushion off the frame and run hot water through it on the machine, then pull that water back out. They go back on the same visit.

Not every carpet cleaning job happens on solid ground. This one was a boat tied up in the harbor, with the extraction equipment carried dock to deck and back for every rug on board.

Every couch holds onto more than it shows. Body oils, everyday contact, years of use settle into the fibers a little more each season, until the color underneath is barely visible anymore.

Scrub a light sectional with soap and water and the stain just spreads wider instead of lifting.

That's body oil and everyday use worked into the weave, not sitting on top of it, so a wet rag pushes it deeper and leaves a bigger, blotchier mark than you started with.

The safe way is a fabric-safe upholstery cleaner and a soft brush, worked in small sections and blotted dry, never scrubbed, then a fan on it so it doesn't sit damp.
