Pool chemistry isn’t guesswork. But you might be surprised how easy it is to get wrong.

Two people can test the same pool, get the same readings, and take completely different approaches to correcting the water.

The wrong chemical, the wrong dosage, or even the right treatment applied at the wrong time can create new problems instead of solving the original one.

Getting the reading is easy. Knowing what it means, how it affects the rest of the water chemistry, and what to do next is where experience matters.

Is your pool being serviced… or just vacuumed?

A lot of pool owners assume all pool service is the same.

But there's a difference between maintaining a pool and simply making it look clean for another week.

The next time your pool gets serviced, ask what was checked after the vacuuming was finished.

The answer will tell you a lot about the service you’re getting.

Rushing this is how the green comes back.

Done right it's slow, and it touches every surface, because the patch you miss is the patch it grows back from first.

The pools that stay clear all summer belong to the owners who handed this off and stopped thinking about it.

Cloudy water on a Saturday check-in is a one-star review before the guest unpacks.

The rentals that avoid those problems have someone checking the pool every week, catching issues early before they turn into guest complaints.

That’s what Clearwater does. Weekly service, reliable equipment checks, and one less thing for rental owners to think about.

Hurricane season is June 1st, and every storm brings the same question: drain the pool or leave it full? Usually you leave it. A full pool holds itself down against a rising water table, while an empty shell on saturated ground can float right out of the dirt. But it comes down to the specific pool.

Most of pool care is knowing the pool in front of you, and storm prep is no different.

Peak season on Hilton Head is the worst possible time to find out your pump is failing.

The signs are almost always there weeks before anything breaks, and they're easy to miss if you don't know what to look for.

Most pool owners find out the hard way. You don't have to.

Down to dirt. Back up from scratch. 🔨

This pool was demolished and rebuilt from the ground up. Different footprint, different design, completely different backyard. Sometimes an upgrade means starting over.

This is what starting over looks like on Hilton Head.

Your pool surface tells you when it's done.

Rough texture underfoot, stains past the finish layer, pits and cracks that keep feeding algae regardless of your chemistry.

Those aren't maintenance problems. They're resurfacing problems.

If your pool surface is 10 or more years old and showing those signs, get it assessed before the deterioration reaches the shell. Catching it early costs significantly less than waiting.

Call 843-682-8228 to schedule a resurfacing assessment.

Every time someone swims, your chlorine takes a hit.

Sweat, sunscreen, and body oils bond with free chlorine and convert it into chloramines, compounds that no longer sanitize. The more bather load your pool sees, the faster that happens.

Shocking the pool is what breaks those bonds apart and puts your chlorine back to work.

On Hilton Head, that's not a once-in-a-while task. If your pool isn't being shocked on a regular schedule, call us. 📞 843-682-8228
