Spray it yourself or have it professionally cleaned?

We get this question all the time.

A turf spray isn’t a bad option at all. In fact, we actually recommend using one between professional cleanings. It helps keep odors down and keeps your turf smelling fresher.

The difference is that a spray only works on the surface.

Over time, urine, bacteria, dirt, and other buildup work their way down into the turf and infill. That’s something a spray can’t remove. That’s where a professional cleaning comes in.

Our recommendation: Have your turf professionally cleaned every 3–6 months, depending on how many pets use it and how often it’s used. Use a spray in between cleanings to help keep everything fresh.

The goal isn’t to choose one or the other. They work best together.

Your turf will last longer, smell better, and stay cleaner.

Stinky artificial Turf is no joke, especially in Miami!

We live where it’s humid 90% of the time and hot 100% of the time. These weather conditions can activate bacteria on the turf and make the turf smell 10 times worse.

Big shoutout to the City of West Miami for taking care of their community and investing in the cleanliness of Central Bark Dog Park 🙌

Dog parks get a lot of use, and over time that buildup underneath the turf can lead to odors and bacteria if it’s not properly maintained. This is a great example of a city staying ahead of it and keeping the park safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.
