🚨 WE NEED HELP TODAY 🚨

We are down to ONE kennel tech today with 58 dogs in our care.

Our team is doing everything they can, but we desperately need volunteers to help walk dogs and give our shelter staff a hand. Even just an hour of your time can make a huge difference for both our dogs and the people caring for them. ❤️

🐾 Help dogs get potty breaks
🐾 Burn off energy and reduce kennel stress
🐾 Give our lone kennel tech a little breathing room

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, today is the day we truly need you. Please come by the shelter if you’re available and able to help walk dogs.

⏰ Anytime today between 10am - 5pm, the sooner the better.

Due to staffing issues, you must be 18 to volunteer today.

During our normal volunteer days, 16-17 year olds require signed parental consent and under 16 must have a parent present.

🦸‍♀️ East End Comic-Con is for everybody! 💥

Whether you’re a superhero fan, a Star Wars fan, an anime fan, a gamer, a movie lover, a cartoon kid at heart, or just someone who likes free food and a fun night out with your neighbors, this night is for you.

Join us next Thursday, June 4th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at AKZ for our East End Comic-Con ☀️ Summer Sizzler Block Party! ☀️!

We’ll have:
🎭 Costume contests with prizes!
📸 A real-deal photo booth
🎨 Professional artist face painting
🎲 Fun games and activities for all ages
🌭 Free food
🎶 Music
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Plenty to enjoy, even if you don’t dress up!

Costumes are encouraged, but definitely not required. Come dressed as your favorite hero, villain, princess, anime character, video game character, wrestler, movie or book character, or just come as yourself and enjoy the night.

This is a free, family-friendly block party for kids, teens, adults, families, and neighbors of all ages. Come hang out, take pictures, play some games, grab some food, and help us kick off Summer Sizzlers in true East End style!

*** 8 AND YOUNGER MUST BE WITH AN ADULT
*** MUST SHOW SOME TYPE OF INDICATION THAT THE POOL IS THE INTENDED DESIGNATION/ SWIM BAG, TOWEL, ETC.

✨Sometimes, the kindness within a community shows up in the simplest ways.✨

One of our East End neighbors set up a Doggy Treat Station for anyone passing by, complete with treats and tennis balls. 🦮🎾
How cool is that?!

It’s a small, thoughtful gesture that perfectly shows the creativity and care that make our East End neighborhood so special.

There’s so much goodness all around us, and this is one sweet reminder. 💙🐾

With our Borrow a Buddy program, you can spend the day with one of our shelter dogs—walks, pup cups, riverfront trips, or just quality time together.
