City of Hecla

City of Hecla The City operates the sewer, water, and electrical systems. There are 12 camping spots available with electrical hookups at the east and west ball parks.

The City also maintains the local cemetery which is located west of town. The Community is a friendly, pleasant place to live and is very active in annual local events, including the annual church fall bazaars and firemen breakfast. We are located near the Sand Lake Wildlife Refuge and James River with a variety of wildlife to see.

City Office will be closed this afternoon 8/19/26.

City Office will be closing at 10:15 tomorrow morning. Will hopefully re-open in the afternoon, however it will depend on how long my appointments take.

City Crew is planning on fogging for mosquitoes this evening.

All of the West side of town will be without water as there is a main that needs unplanned repair.

On Monday, July 13 there will be a power outage due to maintenance. Time frame uncertain but plan for at least 4 hours. It could take longer than that, though. All of town will be without power for a short time but blocks that will be without for the longer time frame are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6, 8 ,11, 17, 18, 19, 36, 37, 38, 39 & 40.
